The Malmsjö* Piano Factory in Gothenburg, Sweden, was established in 1843. This was approximately ten years before Steinway & Sons opened its factory in the U.S. Malmsjö became the leading piano manufacturer in Sweden and produced pianos of excellent quality and beauty (see links below).
